A Student Who's Making a Difference

A Student Who's Making a Difference

We love to celebrate students when they achieve incredible feats in the classroom, onstage, or on the court. While they're doing great things in academics, arts, and athletics, their achievements don't stop there.

Avon Intermediate School West student Dylan Clark is a great example of an Avon student who is making a difference beyond the four walls of his school.

When he visited the Avon Administration Center earlier this week with his mom, Sycamore Elementary Food Services worker Rachael, he had an important item to drop off: a Ziploc bag containing the proceeds from a Gatorade sale he led in his neighborhood with the help of a few of his friends. Along with Anmol (AIS West) and siblings Taha (AIS West) and Aus (Sycamore), they decided to donate their hard-earned cash to the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry.

"What a terrific kid," says Administration Center Receptionist Tracy Gray, who made sure to snap a photo of Dylan before he left. "I thought he deserved a shout out!"

The mission of the pantry is that no Avon student goes hungry. Dylan, his Mom, and his friends have helped to make that mission a reality.

Great job, everyone! Keep up the good work.
