Shay and Pirtle Go Full Circle

Sycamore Elementary 2nd Grade Teacher Brianna Pirtle recently shared this photo along with the following message:

Some of you may know or recognize this awesome lady standing next to me: the one and only Jenny Shayotovich! Shay was the epitome of a truly amazing teacher and obviously had a huge impact on me as a person and a teacher. She is the one who inspired me to follow my teaching passion and become a teacher myself. (Bonus: I teach 2nd grade, too!) Now here we both are, 23 years later, and she is still supporting me in my own classroom via her role in ACSC.

Not only do I love teaching in the community that I grew up in, but I also feel like it is a special way to pay homage to some of the amazing educators I had going through Avon Schools!
